Working with MaxCapital

We invest our own capital in businesses that already work, then help them grow faster. This page explains what you get, what we ask, and what happens after you write to us.

What founders get

Three things, from the same team: the capital, the operating work and the growth engine. Capital is the start; the operating help is the point.

01

Capital

We invest our own capital, sized to the plan, as a majority or significant minority owner. We back businesses with $2–10 million in revenue that are profitable or near-profitable, with recurring or repeat revenue.

02

Operations

Automations and AI implementations across your operations, so the business does more with the same team. We run them alongside your people, not as a one-off project.

03

Go-to-market

Go-to-market strategy and marketing services run alongside your team: positioning, channels, performance and content. The aim is faster growth from the revenue engine you already have.

Founder questions

The questions founders ask us first. If yours is not here, write to us.

Do you take majority or minority stakes?

Either. We invest as a majority or significant minority owner, sized to the plan. What matters more is that the founders want a hands-on partner, not just a cheque.

What size of business do you invest in?

Businesses with $2–10 million in annual revenue that are profitable or near-profitable, with recurring or repeat revenue.

Do you invest in pre-revenue startups?

No. We invest our own capital in businesses that already work, then help them grow faster.

Do you invest outside the United States and the European Union?

Our focus is the United States and the European Union. If you are close but not an exact fit, write to us anyway. We would rather hear about it.

How long does it take from a first conversation to a term sheet?

That depends mostly on how quickly we can review your numbers. The path is the same for everyone: intro call, data review, term sheet, close. After the intro call you will know whether we are going to the next step.

How long do you stay invested?

We typically exit within five years, to a strategic buyer, a larger investor or the founders. Until then we stay involved as owners.

What happens next

01
Intro call

A short call about the business, the numbers and what you want from a partner.

02
Data review

We look at your financials and operations and tell you whether there is a fit.

03
Term sheet

Investment size, stake and the plan we will build and grow against, in writing.

04
Close

Funds in, and the operating work starts with your team.
